The best months for Hurghada diving holidays are April to June and September to November when air temperatures are comfortable (25-30°C) and water visibility is at its peak. Winter months offer excellent value with fewer crowds at dive sites, though surface intervals can be cooler for snorkellers.
Hurghada sits on Egypt's Red Sea coast, approximately 500km southeast of Cairo, making it easily accessible for UK divers. Direct flights from London, Manchester, and Birmingham take around 5.5 hours, with most dive resorts located within 30 minutes of Hurghada International Airport. The city's purpose-built marina and dive centres are concentrated along the coastline, offering convenient access to famous sites like Giftun Island and Abu Ramada.
Peak season (October to April) offers the most comfortable topside temperatures but busier dive sites, whilst summer diving provides exceptional value with equally spectacular underwater conditions. Shoulder seasons like May and September deliver the perfect balance of great weather, quieter reefs, and competitive package prices. Many dive centres offer their best PADI course deals during the quieter summer months.
